A Culture of Reading for Pleasure
Our curriculum offer is underpinned by our love for books and reading. As a school, we are passionate about offering a wide range of beautiful, language and culturally-rich books. Everyone deserves to get lost in a world of endless adventure and imagination.
We have a purpose built library that is a world where pupils and their families can loose themselves in a book- totally escaping their currently reality and immersing themselves in a world of imagination.
The reading culture doesn't stop at our gates but prides itself on developing readrs of the future. All our pupils visit the local community library- spending an afternoon with the librarians and browsing a wealth of titles.
Teachers are able to develop their own knowledge of books by working with experts form the ELS- to support them in ensuring our pupils are able to access relevant content to help support their learning.
We don't just want pupils to borrow books but we provide opportunities for pupils to become proud owners of a book through the use of our book boxes. They are available to take, swap, replace before school, during playtimes and lunch times and after school.
