COVID-19 Guidance

We have been delighted to welcome students and staff back into our schools this autumn. Whilst we have returned to some sense of normality following the pandemic, we continue to review our operating procedures in line with the DfE recommended operational guidance. We continue to maintain a number of processes and procedures to ensure we keep everyone as safe as possible while they are attending school.

Whilst classrooms have returned to their usual teaching styles and the need for bubbles has been removed, we are continuing with a number of our mitigations such as one-way systems, the need for good ventilation and enhanced in-day cleaning regimes. We have made provision, through our bespoke outbreak management plans, to re-introduce measures in the unlikely event there is an increased rate of cases within our setting.

Students and staff continue to have the freedom to choose to wear a face covering if they wish to do so.

If you have any further questions on the work we are doing to manage our school during this period, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We thank you for your continued support.

COVID-19

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are a fever (a temperature of 37.8°C), a new and persistent cough (usually dry) and a loss of taste and/or smell. Symptoms might also include fatigue, aches and pains, sore throat, headaches and shortness of breath. Diarrhoea and a blocked/runny nose are rare. The NHS says symptoms can range from mild to severe.

Colds

The most common symptoms of a cold are sneezing, aches and pains, a blocked/runny nose and sore throat. A mild cough can also be experienced. There is sometimes fatigue and it is rare to experience a fever or headaches. Colds do not cause diarrhoea. The NHS states that with a cold there is usually a gradual onset of symptoms.

Seasonal Flu

Flu most commonly consists of a fever, fatigue, a dry cough, aches and pains and headaches. Patients will sometimes experience a blocked/runny nose or a sore throat. Diarrhoea can sometimes occur in children. There is usually no sneezing with flu, but a severe shortness of breath can develop. The NHS notes there is usually a rapid onset of symptoms.

Clean your hands regularly

Remember to clean your hands regularly and thoroughly during the school day.

Try to clean your hands with soap and water whenever possible, or use the hand sanitisers provided in school.

You should always clean your hands:

  • When you first arrive at school
  • When you return from breaks
  • When you change rooms
  • Before and after eating
